As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance. -- Calvin and Hobbes

Ring it in, baby, with a tune!

Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o’ lang syne!
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!
We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu’d the gowans fine,
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot
Sin’ auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl’t in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin’ auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie’s a hand o’ thine,
And we’ll tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!
And surely ye’ll be your pint’ stoup,
And surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

and for the old English impaired....

Times Gone By
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And days of long ago!
Chorus:
For times gone by, my dear
For times gone by,
We will take a cup of kindness yet
For times gone by.
We two have run about the hillsides
And pulled the daisies fine,
But we have wandered many a weary foot
For times gone by.
We two have paddled (waded) in the stream
From noon until dinner time,
But seas between us broad have roared
Since times gone by.
And there is a hand, my trusty friend,
And give us a hand of yours,
And we will take a goodwill drink (of ale)
For times gone by!
And surely you will pay for your pint,
And surely I will pay for mine!
And we will take a cup of kindness yet
For times gone by!

Happy New Year! Be safe and courteous and give someone a hug and kiss.

Another litter of critters!

I know this is the first sentence of this post, so "by the way" probably isn't grammatically necessary or appropriate. However, in case you weren't going to make it to the bottom of this post, I thought I would get the "by the way" up front!  ...By the way, for the new year, 2015, I have chosen a beneficiary of my shelter donations!  It will be Canine Crusaders of Atlanta. Ta da!

Ok, I wanted to post the remaining 5 critter balls which are available right now at Raiford Gallery in Roswell, GA.  I'm sure if you ask nicely, they'll ship to you for a small fee.
Boxer and the beloved smiling Mutt! (could be Lab/Dachshund/Corgie/Jack Russel and on and on)

For the first time, I have offered two galleries a small litter of critter ornaments for you to just snatch up without a custom order, at a great low price, just in time for Christmas.  The two galleries have 5 ornaments each, all different breeds and a couple of potential mutts!

Today I'm posting the 5 critters which have been delivered to:

Golden Retriever, Westie, Boston Terrier

You can walk in and purchase any of these 5 ornaments if you're in the Atlanta area, or call and you may be able to order over the phone get one shipped to you. The best part is that these special ornaments are just $60 each, and are painted with the same loving care as my custom ornaments, they're just a little smaller, about 2 5/8".  They come nestled in a little gift/storage box and arrive with care and feeding instructions.

Take advantage of this great deal and give a special gift this year hand painted ornament!  These 5 ornaments include:
a beloved Mutt, a Boxer, a Westie, a Boston Terrier and a Golden Retriever

Thanks and have a nice day,
Rebecca

The busy season is here, oh my...

Happy December!
Do you have your tree up yet? Because, they've already played the Charlie Brown Christmas special. I'm behind on decorating but I'll put the elves on duty tomorrow.

It's that time of year again..the time of year when I actually have a minor excuse for not blogging. I'm really busy painting little critter ornaments like these..
